Next stage of challenge

I am now working on Nickie's fabric, that was inspired by the European Union. I have to quilt the fabric and think I will try to show the links between the different countries in my stitching. I just have to work out how I want to carry out the task.

I have finally passed my sample of fabric onto Debs (only a few days late). First of all I had fun dyeing lots of fabric with procion dyes to get the colour I wanted. I then used part of a design from the aboriginal rock art and made stencils in various sizes using freezer paper. The next step was to apply the design using discharge paste and/or markal paint sticks. I hope Debs has fun on the next step of the challenge and that she likes my inspirational picture.

  5. hi there,

this looks like an interesting technique that I should explore more. When I went to australia years ago, I was blown away by the aboriginal art, but where I saw it also just in the land when I was taking photo's.

  6. There are 5 people in our Round Robin, Sharne, Nickie, Debs, Margaret and myself. All the others have studied C&G together, so I am the novice. It will be fun to see what the other do to our fabric.
