I have had a lovely half term, with plenty of time for textiles. It started on Monday with a talk at Chelmsford EG by Lynda Monk. I love her work, blog and book. Her talk was so inspirational and has really given me an idea for a project that I have been planning for an embroidery group 'Aqua'. On Wednesday, I had a day workshop with my old patchwork group, Ladybugs. It was given by Janet Goddard and involved applique. A simple idea that was very effective, but problems with heat and bond caused huge disasters for several in the class. Finally on Saturday, I had a workshop with Jacky Russell on Lutradur. Following a talk by her at the EG, we were all very excited to take part and none of us were disappointed. She really gave me the confidence to play and explore. I have purchased so many exciting products at different shows and they just sit in my sewing room unused. Well, now they are all coming out and are going to be used. The icing on the cake would have been to visit Textiles in focus today, but family came first, and I really should use all my purchases rather than buying more. It just would have been nice to see all the lovely work. Hopefully some pictures will appear on different blogs.
Ps I have tried to load some photos but not able to, I really need to have a lesson in the apple shop
