Cycle ride

Today I went on my first bike ride in about 15 years, 10 miles around the local country lanes. My husband has been doing this particular route for about a month now, but with all my travelling I have managed to avoid it. I have to say I coped much better than I thought I would, lets hope it helps shift some weight. I was shattered when i returned home.

I have also been sorting out my sewing room (still not really tidy) as I needed some space to work on a project I have started with my patchwork group. We are all making a 10x40" quilt (similar to Gail Lawther's New Zealand quilts) based on travel. Over the past 6 weeks I have been touring in France, plus stayed in Turkey & Dubai. I took lots of inspirational photos in France but I have decided to use the coastline in Turkey for my quilt. Photo's to follow later in the week.

I have also been shopping to buy some fabric, threads, beads, sheers, kunin felt and stitch and tear, so that I can develop the work I covered on Yvonne Browns workshop. Another book purchased from Amazon on medieval tiles will help with the design work. I need to sit down now and draw out the design. I have been covering the use of 'The Fibonacci series' of numbers at school in design work, so I am going to try and use this as it helps produce a proportional design. It works best with rectangles, so I will have to check the use of squares. Looking for my samples made with Yvonne, made me sort out my sewing room. It only took three days to find them, even though I had already looked in that particular box several times.
