Although I started the FWSQAL late, I have managed to stitch 8 blocks this week plus purchase some more fabric to make other ones. This is week 8 of the challenge, so over the next few weeks I need to make a few more to catch up.
I have also been working on some embellished hearts, (all hand stitching) as I am going to be doing a workshop in September at Craft Arena when Material girls have their exhibition there. Photos to follow when finished.
Next week, will be similar, but I will have to include some housework and ironing. My number 1 priority will be to re-organise my sewing room so that I can include a large table from Ikea as I want a area where I can cut fabric and paint without kneeling on the floor.
Does this mean, that if I sewed every week, my stress levels would slide down. I think I'm up somewhere near the summit at the moment.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, I can't sew so I think that might be an issue!
You make sure Diane you have an excellent summer, you deserve it.
You've certainly started in the right direction.
You definately need to sew to keep the stress levels down! Looking forward to seeing the hearts. I keep telling myself I'll be less stressed once I've finished C&G and can stitch what I like.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I'm glad you took the first week to do what you like! The housework can wait :-) This is the first week of our school hol so we are not quite at the relaxed stage yet ....
ReplyDeleteHope you find the time to sort your craft area out and get a big table. My craft room took a huge amount of work but it was so worth it! I'm loving my new space and I can now work at my table and reach for everything I need Without getting up!
And good for you for handing your notice in. ... You not only have the whole summer in front of you but your whole life!
Di you are so clever. When we were in Utah last year, we saw home made quilted throws, cushions, blankets etc. etc. all over the place. The ladies there had done this all their life since childhood and could create the most amazing pieces of work... usually all by hand. I finish work in September, and I want to start sewing too. I'll let you know if my stress levels drop lol! xxx
