Festival of Quilts
What a busy show this year, and so many quilts on show. I normally go for two days, but we have a family wedding to go to in the Lake District this weekend, so it was one day at the NEC or not at all. My friend and I will be going for two days next year, it is just such a rush and you really don't have time to look at the quilts properly. There were some wonderful quilts on display, two by Nickie (lovely work, well done!). But I am unsure what the definition of a quilt is now, some of them were just stitching onto organza. I also thought that the NEC would have a certain standard, a few of the quilts were extremely badly made. But don't be put off, if you are thinking of going. There were lots of stalls with plenty of items to purchase, demos to watch and advice to gain. I still had some money left at the end of the day, I purchased alot of the essentials on my list and only bought a few extras (they were also essential).

Glad you had a good time, but coming home with money in your purse means you will have more to spend at Ally Pally. Is there anything that Nickie and I need to look out for?
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the show. I'm a bit worried now that you couldn't find my quilt. I'm in the art quilt section. Should I be worried or was it just busy?
