We had a wonderful weekend in the Lake District and would love to go back next year, for a longer break. I even found an art shop, selling good quality sketch books for a fraction of the price sold in my local shop. I can now start to follow the exercises on Gina's blog.
The wedding was lovely, very different from the traditional type. The setting was fantastic and luckily it stopped raining for the whole day. Many of the guest were camping on the estate of Rydal Hall and had got soaked setting up on the Friday. I felt guilty for staying in a luxury hotel just down the road. Although, it amazes me how they manage to make the rooms, bathrooms and swimming pool look so much larger than they really are in the photos. Whilst every one was taking photos of the happy couple I had to sneak off and take a picture of this lovely wall. I have decided that I need a better camera to take better quality photos.
I am glad that you enjoyed your weekend and that it stayed dry for the wedding. Have you started the drawing yet????
ReplyDeleteI am saving the RRC to do at mums. I bought lots of bits at the FOQ to use on it. YE will have to wait until vessel is done, hopefully should start thinking/playing Thursday-fingers crossed
ReplyDeletePleased you had a good weekend Diane. An iphone and a new camera, your wish list is growing by the minute!
ReplyDeleteHave a good day today.
The Lake District is beautiful, isn't it? Lots of inspiration there. Thank you for visiting my blog. I'm glad you enjoyed FOQ. I always find I miss loads. It's a great event though. I am going to the K&S show in Harrogate this year but I' also thinking I might go to Ally Pally too if I can.
ReplyDeleteI see you live in Chelmsford. I was born there and lived there for several years. My mum still lives in Essex.
It's years since I've been to the Lake District. Looking forward to seeing what you do in the sketchbook.
ReplyDeletethanks for the comment Diane, I'm at a loss as to what to do. I removed the pics she was using from flickr but she's just gone back over there and got different ones!!
ReplyDeleteOh what beautiful country! I would love to visit someday!
